Stay Informed
Stay informed about prevention activities and resources through the MNCASA website, the MDH Sexual Violence Prevention Website, and The Sexual Violence Prevention Network.- Educate yourself and others about the facts and myths of sexual violence and its prevention. Ask your library to purchase books about sexual violence. Utilize the resources of Prevention Connection and the Prevention Institute and the tools listed in Additional Tools.
- Check A Place To Start: A Resource Kit for Preventing Sexual Violence, Minnesota Department of Health, Sexual Violence Prevention Unit.
- Watch for updates to The Minnesota Summit E-Report.
Take action
- Be part of the prevention movement. Join one of Minnesota’s prevention action networks (see Resources and Tools).
- Check MNCASA’s “What are the Prevention Actions You Can Take”
- Schedule a performance of “Until Someone Wakes Up: A Play About Date Rape”
- Contact youthrive:LIVE!
- Sponsor a training session for your organization. Consider screening the TPT/MNCASA documentary “Stop Sexual Violence: Listen and Lead.” Contact us at theminnesotasummit@mncasa.org to request a free copy of the full length video.
- Complete an assessment of resources and initiatives in your organization or county that address the prevention of sexual violence. See example of Minnesota county resolutions, and Winona County and Ramsey County’s action plans.
- Present an award to an individual, business, or organization for its role in taking action to prevent sexual violence.
